Description:
Carignan is typically "buried in the mix" behind Syrah or Grenache in southern French red blends. Here it gets to stand on its own and makes a good case for mono-varietal expressions. Low in alcohol (12.5%) and light on the palate, this fruit forward red from Herault expresses crushed red and black raspberries which are fortified by a cheerful cranberry kick. Not overly earth driven or sharply structured, this is a red to crack and pour in casual situations with good company. They don't have to know how little you paid!
